A Living Legacy
The Humphrey Hiuhu Foundation was established to honor the memory of a wonderful man:
HH Wakahiu. To those who knew him, his life was defined by a beautiful combination of kindness, laughter, gentleness, humility, and above all, deep generosity.
Though our founder only had 15 short years to know him, those years left a permanent mark. He was a man who intentionally loved his family, stood as a pillar of support, and extended unwavering kindness to absolute strangers.
The Humphrey Hiuhu Foundation is a direct reflection of what he was all about—taking the seed of his memory and turning it into a living mission of active love.

Providing a Safe Place
Your donations help maintain the Happy Mercy Center as a secure, dignifying environment where vulnerable children can heal and grow. Many of these children come from single-parent households trapped in absolute poverty, where mothers face overwhelming hardships just to survive. By funding the center’s upkeep, you support Director Mary in providing a stable sanctuary where these children live safely, experience compassionate care, and still preserve vital family bonds through regular visits home throughout the year.
Feeding Program
Your generosity directly funds our vital, ongoing commitment to provide consistent food and clean water every single month. For over five years, this community's support has ensured that the children at the center never have to sleep hungry. By securing their most basic nutritional needs, your financial gifts relieve the crushing burdens carried by single mothers, restoring hope to families and creating the physical foundation necessary for these children to thrive.
Education and Further studies
Your support opens the door to a brighter future by keeping these children enrolled in school and unlocking long-term self-sufficiency. Beyond ensuring the younger children receive a foundational primary education, your donations actively sponsor high school graduates as they transition into polytechnic and technical schools. By funding this essential tuition, you equip the older youth with practical, life-changing skills needed to break the cycle of structural poverty permanently.

This year, we wish to continue with the food donations and assist the high school graduates to attend the polytechnic school. We are working directly with Mary, the Director at the Happy Mercy Center in Kenya.
