We Are The HUMPHREY HIUHU Foundation
We are guided by a simple, profound truth found in James 2:15-16: If a brother or sister is without clothes or daily food, and we merely wish them well without giving them what they need, how does that help?
We do not look at structural poverty with harsh judgment; we look at it with compassion and a drive to find practical solutions. We invite you to join us in keeping this legacy of love alive
Our Impact: The Happy Mercy Center Project
Shifting the Narrative from Absolute Poverty to Absolute Hope
In the communities we serve, many single mothers face heartbreaking choices. Trapped in absolute poverty where basic human needs like food, safe water, and shelter are severely lacking, mothers are often forced to leave their children unsupervised just to look for casual day labor. When the systemic weight of poverty strips away dignity, hopelessness sets in.
But there is a different path forward.
Since it’s founding, the Humphrey Hiuhu Foundation has partnered with Mary, the compassionate director of the Happy Mercy Center in Kenya (formerly Gladways Rescue Center). What began as a step of faith to meet a critical shortage of food has blossomed into a lasting commitment.
Because we chose to say “yes,” these children have not slept hungry for over five years.
We are on a mission
Inspired by a legacy of generosity, the Humphrey Hiuhu Foundation provides tangible support to vulnerable children in single-parent households.

Safe haven for support
Our journey began hand-in-hand with the incredible children at the Happy Mercy Center in Kenya (formerly Gladways Rescue Center). By stepping in to secure their most basic needs, we aim to alleviate the overwhelming burdens faced by single mothers, restoring dignity to families and providing a foundation of stability so children can thrive.

Good that grows
Our ultimate vision is to build a blanket of support for as many vulnerable families as possible. While we are deeply proud of our life-changing partnership with the Happy Mercy Center, our long-term goal is to expand our reach to many more centers and communities. We plan to duplicate this model of targeted, tangible aid—scaling our nutrition, housing, and technical education programs to rescue more children in single-parent households and restore hope across entire regions.

Faith into Action
"What if a Person does not have clothes or food? And one of you says to him, “Goodbye, keep yourself warm and eat well.” But if you do not give him what he needs, how does that help him? A faith that does not do things is a dead faith." — James 2:15-17
I am excited to finally invite you to partner with us in our current mission and future vision of our organization.
